A puzzle cache inspired by my Mum’s love of quizzes!
The above co-ordinates are meaningless really - they are for the village of Springfield. The cache is near here but in which direction?
My mum loves doing those quiz sheets that you buy on shop counters - you know the sort of thing - usually to raise funds for a local charity or similar - twenty or so questions to answer. She always keeps a copy after sending them in, so she has a huge bank of answer sheets. The following puzzle is based on a popular type of quiz which she has become very good at completing - not least because many of the questions are repeated in different quizzes and this is where her answer bank comes in handy!
Normally you would be given the number and first letter of the words in the phrase and your task would be to work out what the phrase is. Here are some examples:
12 M in a Y = Months in a Year
26 L in the A = Letters in the Alphabet
However, my puzzle has an evil twist - you will only be given the initial letters, so you will have to work out what the phrase is without the help of the number at the start. The number is, of course, what you are looking for to complete the co-ordinates. All numbers are single digits. I am not sure how tricky this will be to solve so please feel free to email me with feedback or requests for help!
