Bookem' Danno Traditional Cache

This cache is temporarily unavailable.

Marko Ramius: I was reviewing caches in the area that appear to need maintenance or have been temporarily disabled for an extended period of time. I see that this one hasn't had a status update from the owner in the past few months. Obviously, we give extra time when a cache must be disabled for reasons beyond the owner's control, but it does help to have periodic updates.

Please post a note to the cache page to let us all know the status: Any plans to replace (now or in the future)? A report that the area is not yet ready for a cache placement? A simple note on the cache page just to let us know that you haven't forgotten about the cache?

Please respond on this cache page within the next 30 days. If we do not hear from you, we may conclude that the cache has been abandoned and the cache may be archived. Please be aware that caches that are archived due to a lack of communication or maintenance may not be unarchived.
Please note that we now place greater emphasis on "refreshing the gameboard" which means that our SoCal volunteer Reviewers will be more aggressively freeing up space for new caches to replace old ones that are not being properly maintained. In this vein, a response on the cache page from the cache owner is required to avoid archival.

Thank you for your understanding.

Geocache Description:

Small cache. Pen and log only. Might need a Coat Hanger TOTT

Once you get here you'll notice that this is the South Pasadena Library and the building and grounds have quite a lot of character. If you don't get here you probably won't notice that. It's a nice place to sit and relax in the shade of old trees or go across the street to the coffee house and grab some exotic brew. If you're cheap you can go up the street to the day old bread place, buy some stale bagels and throw em at the parrots (noisy bunch of buggers). You can use PETA bread too but that's just twisted.
The bulding has some of the older architecture that South Pas. is famous for and you can see some of this in the cornices and carvings around the building. The building itself is rumored to be the remains of the notorious water baron Sam Marino. It's said Sam and his wife Gabriel built their mansion from the ill gotten gains of water piracy. They were in to the shady act of buying up whole water ways and moving them to areas where people didn't ask questions about what they were drinking. To keep their dealings secret they set up a system of under ground rivers and would rename some of their aquisitions to confound their critics. When they moved the great inland sea of Rio Del Mar from it's natural bed in the East and renamed it after themselves, the Sam Gabriel River, this started a revolt by the city of Daleirwin (founded by the famous ship building brothers Irwin,Dale and Sheipyaerd Bluintz) and legislation was soon passed outlawing corny jokes at the expense of others. This failed miserably by the fact of the Tonight Show itself.
Anyway, if you're in the area, like older neighborhoods (sans parrots), need a thesaurus or are just into Dewey decimaling, check it out. See that, legislation means squat. By the way FTF gets a new (Xeroxed?) scratcher.
