This cache is located in a bush park near the Mundaring Weir. The park is named after Fred Jacoby who in 1898 along with his brother help construct the original hotel in this area as the weir was being developed. The original hotel was called the Reservoir Hotel. In 1906 Fred built the two storey hotel that we now know as the Mundaring Weir Hotel with English house bricks that were most likely used as ballast in the old sailing ships. The name changed from the Reservoir hotel to the Goldfields weir hotel, then of course onto the Mundaring Weir hotel.
The park is very well established with trees from around the world, it is a great place to bring the family on a Sunday for a BBQ and complete the other caches in the area.
There are several options for coffee, cake, and light meals close by.
