English:
The first written account of the Kostomlaty Castle, founded probably by lords of Riesenburg (Osek), dates from 1333. A prominent Hussite military leader Jakoubek of Vresovice seized large estate in the surounding region of northwest Bohemia during Hussite Wars and was in possession of the castle after 1435. The castle later passed on his descendants surnamed Vresovsky of Kostomlaty. Since 16th century owners no longer inhabited the castle and preferred as their seat fort located in village of Kostomlaty pod Milesovkou below it (which later evolved into Kostomlaty Chateau). The abandoned castle fell into disrepair. When hiking became widespread on turn of 20th century a restaurant operated at the lower courtyard and the big tower served as a lookout point. Nowadays the ruin is under auspices of a group of volunteers called Citizen's Association for Conservation of the Kostomlaty Castle. During weekends they will provide you with info about the castle, some refreshments and souvenirs. The big tower with its 360-degrees panorama has not been reopened to the public yet but upper terrace of the castle also offers great views towards the north.

The castle premises, except towers and dungeons, are freely accessible throughout the whole year, there is also a fireplace and a muggle logbook at your disposal. Beware of falling masonry while touring the ruin. The cache is located outside the castle, so there is no need to dismantle any wall. You are looking for a box approximately 18 x 11 x 6 cm in size, the most comfortable access to the cache is using a path which follows outer circumference of castle moat.
