Geocache Description:

On Piute Lookout.

The former site of a Forest Service smoke watch station. Take Piute Mountain Road to the Jct of Piute Lookout Road. Drive to the end. Park near the concrete slab foundation of the crew residence. It's a short hike up from there to the site of the smoke watch station.

Piute Lookout Rd (28S17)intersects Piute Mountain Rd from the N-NW at N35 26.981, W118 22.483. It is approx. 2.5 miles from the intersection to the dead end. Cache is at 8,320ft elevation. Located near the cache (but not as well hidden) is a visitor log placed by the Forest Service. The log is in a short section of white PVC pipe.
