Located in Puslinch Tract off of Wellington County Road 32.
Why name this Urn Lake ? A couple of years ago my wife and sister
in law were walking in this tract of land known as Puslinch Tract.
This is a large public use area that is a reclaimed gravel pit. The
area has a number of ponds. One of the ponds (Urn Lake) is quite
large. The water in it had receded during the time they were
walking there and they found at that time, what they believed was
an urn for holding the ashes of someone cremated. They weren't sure
what to do with it at that time, so they left it there. After some
reflection, they decided that they should go back and get it, in
the event that it had been stolen and they could assist in getting
it back to the family missing it. When they went back, it was gone
- hence Urn Lake. This area is a great place for hiking and
mountain biking. You may see on your GPSr that this cache is near
the east bound lane of Highway 401. DO NOT ATTEMPT TO GET THE CACHE
BY PARKING NEXT TO HIGHWAY 401. Park at the designated parking area
on County Road 32.
