Geocache Description:

This historic town dates from 1765 when it was a military station known as the Poste des Attakapas. It is also the last home of Emmeline Labiche, Henry Wadsworth Longfellow's Evangeline. There was a time when it was known as la Petite Paris--many French aristocrats fled their homeland during the Revolution and settled here, bringing with them such traditions as fancy balls, lavish banquets, and other forms of high living.

General terrain is paved sidewalks and boardwalks. Parking is available but may be hectic during weekend masses, but even then parking can still be found. The area contains many interesting museums and attractions worth visiting. Allow about an hour to complete the cache, and a little longer if you’re a history buff. This is a nice walk at night (especially at Christmas time) but you will need to bring a flashlight to find the clues.
