This Gathering takes Place on Saturday, October 14, 2006, the right time for Fall colors!
PLEASE READ THIS WHOLE DESCRIPTION AND NOTE IT WILL HAVE ADDITIONS ETC. AS THE DATE DRAWS NEARER!
It will be held in Letchworth Sate Park in the same Pavilion as last year. There is a large parking lot with RestRooms near the Pavilion. TO VISIT THIS CACHE AGAIN USE ZIPCODE 14530.
The Park opens at 6 AM and closes at 10 PM. There is an entrance fee per car. If you want to camp or rent a cabin in the Park call 1-800-456-2267 or Highbanks Tent and Trailer (camping) 237-3303. There are campgrounds and Motels outside the park in Mt. Morris & Perry etc. THERE ARE RESTRICTIONS REGARDING PETS; short leash, proof of shots, etc. PETS ARE PROHIBITED FROM ALL PARK BUILDINGS INCLUDING THE PAVILION, CABINS, CABIN AREAS, AND POOL AREAS. NO PETS ARE ALLOWED AT THE GATHERING!!
The Pavilion, South Highbanks, is near the Mt. Morris Entrance in the area of the Swimming Pool. It has a capacity of 184 people, there are 23 tables. There are 8 grills in a covered vented area attached to the enclosed Pavilion. There are at least 5 or 6 electric outlets. At least 2 are required for coffee & Hot water. There is running water just outside the Pavilion. There is a huge fireplace inside at one end; we have a donation of firewood. There is a large play area with playground equipment for kids.
In the past some early birds have had breakfast; we have OVER 5 takers this year.

Lunch starts about Noon. Everyone brings a "dish to share" or some contribution such as charcoal,& CHARCOAL STARTER (AT THIS POINT WE HAVE ALL THE CHARCOAL & STARTER WE NEED). You will also be expected to HELP COOK THE HOTS AND HAMBURGERS FOR YOUR FAMILY AND OTHERS. When you log on tell us HOW MANY will be in your group and what you will contribute to eat etc. The food so far is:
80 HAMBURGERS, 80 HAMBURG ROLLS, 15 LB. HOTDOGS, SOME HOTDOG ROLLS,(I THINK WE HAVE PLENTY NOW.), HAM, LARGE CATSUP, 2MUSTARD, 2 RELISH, POTATO SALAD, BAKED ZITI, PASTA SALAD, FRUIT SALAD, MACARONI SALAD, BROCCOLI SALAD, DEVILED EGGS, BIG POT OF CHILI, 2 DUTCH OVEN BAKED BEANS, BAKED BEANS, MUFFINS-APPLE & PUMPKIN, GREEN VEGGIE, VEGGIE TRAY AND DIP, 2 CHICKEN WING DIPS, SUMMER SAUSAGE, 2 BREAD BOWLS & DIP, CHEESE BALL & CRACKERS, CHEESE & CRACKERS, SNACKS, TRAIL MIX, & TRAIL SNACKS, JUNK FOOD;ie:PRETZELS, CHIPS, ETC.; APPLE PIES, PASTA DESSERT SALAD, EURO-STYLE COOKIES, 2 SETS BROWNIES, CHOCOLATE CHIP COOKIES, IRISH CREME COOKIES, "REVEL" BAR COOKIES, CHERRY COBBLER, VARIETY OF COOKIES, 2 UNNAMED DESSERTS, BAGS OF CANDY, 2 BAGS OF FRESH FRUIT, JUICE BOXES, CIDER, DIET SNAPPLE, 3+ CASES BOTTLED WATER, & OVER A CASE OF UNNAMED DRINKS, HOT CHOCOLATE MIX, SOME PLASTIC WARE, PLASTIC SILVERWARE, PLASTIC PLATES, PAPER PLATES, SMALL DESSERT PLATES, COFFEE CUPS, HOT CUPS, GLASSES, NAPKINS. LARGE COFFEE POT, COFFEE, LARGE POT OF HOT WATER, MILK, SUGAR, WATER JUG, PLASTIC STIR STICKS, SALT & PEPPER, EXTENSION CORDS, PLASTIC GARBAGE BAGS, 2 SETS COOKING UTENSILS, MICROPHONE.
I will keep this site updated with food contributios etc. as time draws nearer and cachers log on.
In the past we have had some great "For the Gathering Only" caches hidden by KillerBee & Brogan. They will help us again this year. COORDINATES POSTED AT THE GATHERING SITE EARLY IN THE DAY. This year we will again have prizes to raffle off. We already have a GPS, some gift certificates from "Dick's Sporting Goods", and a "Coin & pin set" from kacheKat & Kickin; SEE HIS 9/29 LOG TO GET A PICTURE OF IT. I'll add to the prize list as time draws nearer. A GROUP PICTURE IS USUALLY TAKEN AFTER LUNCH. There is usually a bonfire or gathering of some sort in the camping area Saturday Night with Jungle Hair, THIS YEAR IT WILL BE AT SITE 323 HOSTED BY DONNA (DNNSGPS).

OSAGE FARM GATHERING N 42 41.456 W 077 52.958 THIS event will be located at the Osage Farms on Friday the 13th of October. This is a prelude to the Letchworth Fall Gathering V. It is located just a few miles from the North entrance of the Park. Turn right on Rt. 36 head toward Mt. Morris, go 2.8 miles from the light in town till you find Swanson Road on the Right, and take it to the end.
If you are lucky enough to have the day off, come at any time and try your skills at caching the series of 7 caches in the woods and ravine. The event will kick off any time after Noon on Friday. There is plenty of room for tents or campers if anyone wants to spend the night. There will be a "Johnny On the Spot". We will have a very large tarp just in case of wet weather. There are plenty of Picnic tables and seats for all; no need to bring lawn chairs. Everything will be provided by your hosts, so just bring yourself and a smile. A night Cache is being Planned for those who like working in the dark. Just send Killer Bee a note to let him know how many are attending so there will be planty of supplies ready. We expect to have much fun meeting our fellow cachers! I know there are a lot of Newbies! Pictures from the past to share are welcome!
NOTE: What we carry in we must carry out, so help with clean up is assumed. We will allow some alcohol in moderation for adults as before. (I had to sign a special permit for that.) The State Trooper Barracks are right next door, so watch your step. (Hee Hee!)
