GONE CACHING 2!

The Geocachers of the North East (GONE) caching and camping event August 26 and 27, 2006 at Camp Glen Gray. DAY EVENT on Saturday August 26 for those who do not want to camp!!!!




What is it...?
Cache your way to August 25th through August 27th at Camp Glen Grey, located in Northern New Jersey, just off interstate 287. Meet fellow cachers from all over the region and beyond. For a two day get-together: caching, camping, playing GPS games, participating in fun activities, finding event caches, fishing (with NJ license), boating, hiking, dining, gathering around the council campfire and sharing caching stories with fellow geocachers.

Where is it...?
Truly a world apart, Camp Glen Gray offers the many pleasures of outdoor camping in a locations that is remote yet convienent to out of staters. The camp sits in northern New Jersey, just off interstate 287 and offers 750 pristine forested acres and over a dozen campsites. With over 100 caches within a 10 mile radius the area is truly a caching dream!

Caches
There are over 100 caches within a 10 mile radius of the camp. The event staff have laid out a Kids (inset), a night cache and a Murder Mystery event cache which encompasses all elements of Camp Glen Grays surroundings.

Camping
Camping check-in starts at 8 a.m. on the Saturday and runs throughout the day (early Friday night camping also available). Campsites offer cabins for 9-30 people and tent and platform sites. Central to each camp site is the campfire circle and all sites have drinking water (bring your own containers) and latrine facilities (bring your own tp). You can make a reservation now by e-mailing Lakelady at: or you can pay during checkin. For cabins please contact the camp. Camp Reservations The camp is 'rustic' with all campsites about .25 miles from the parking area. No RVs or vehicles are allowed at the campsites. A truck will provide shuttle service for equipment and people's stuff to and from the camp areas. There are showers and a well nearby.

Hotels

Saturday Event Day
If you can't make the camping, the Saturday (August 26th) is jammed packed with day activities, meals and social gatherings. The day event cost is $6.00 (includes Camp Glen Gray $5 day-pass) and applies to campers, people in cabins and daytrippers.

Friday - August 25th - Optional Camping (must arrive before 10 pm)
Campers responsible for their own dinner

Saturday - August 26th - Check-in Day
8:00 am - Breakfast for campers ($6.00 includes lunch and dinner)
9:30 am - Pre-event group hike led by Dave of Team DEMP
10:00 am - Day Event check-in begins - kid's cache and event caches available
12:00 pm - Lunch at dining hall ($6.00 for lunch and dinner)
2:00 pm - Group hike led by BrianSnat to Lake Todd boating - Murder Mystery Event cache - Geocaching activities - kid's cache
4:00 pm - Boating ends
6:00 pm - Dinner at dining Hall
RAFFLE AT DINNER: Starts at 6:15 pm
7:00 pm - Event Group photo at the Lake Dam
7:30 pm - Group Fire at Ampitheater --- Bring your glowsticks!
8:30 pm - Group Night hike - Night caching: Are You Afraid of the Dark?
10:00 pm - Firepits, day trippers go home

Sunday- August 27th
9:00 am - Group breakfast (free)
Camping checkout by 11 a.m.

Food
Friday: Cachers are responsible for their own food.
Saturday: breakfast, lunch and dinner will be catered and provided by NNJC the cost is $6.00 for any or all three meals. If you would like to help contribute food, email Dhenninger
