Grave Lake Cache Traditional Cache

We chose this area simply because we wanted to share it's beauty with everyone. There's a story about an indian grave across the lake but we've heard too many versions to do much justice to the lake. We'd sure LOVE to hear from anyone who knows the true story. We'd love to post it here. Ok, on with the directions. Heading from Sparwood to Elkford drive till you see a large Elk Valley Coal Line Creek Operations sign you want to turn "right" here and drive down the paved road till you cross a bridge. Right after the bridge turn "right" again onto a dirt road. Drive 2.6 km's to a left turn up another dirt road till you cross a train track about 1 km. From the train track to Grave lake is about 2.5 km's. You'll pass a sign saying Main Beach with an arrow pointing right the beach is about 1 km passed this point. Make a Left hand turn down a short hill to the lake where you can soak and cool off. (Depending on the time of year) The Cache is very close to this area so the rest is up to you. Your GPS should take your right to it. Hope you enjoy. Don't forget your skeeter ammo!
