Birdsong Traditional Cache

This cache has been archived.

charliewhiskey: Unfortunately, this is no longer a good place for my cache. I commend the Parks Department and their efforts to remove invasive blackberry vines. However, their efforts here have turned this into a very exposed area.

However, the many varied bird songs are still delightful.

Geocache Description:

This is in a little-known park along Beaverton Creek and is designed to be a test of your cache-finding abilities.

Every time I come here I am enchanted by this quiet oasis filled with the sounds of many different birds (hence the cache name).

The cache is not far from the path, but it’s camouflaged to blend in with the surroundings, but the hints will help. In fact the second hint will make it a quick and easy hunt. If you are fighting blackberries, you’ve gone in too far.

I enter the park at these coordinates: N 45 31.131, W 122 53.461. There is a path there between the houses. Parking is a challenge - pay attention to the patch-work of no-parking areas along the street.

The cache is small - 5 x 3 x 1 ½ inches. Please open it carefully.

There's a tree about 50-60' north of the cache that has been frequently visited by woodpeckers. It's interesting to look at. (...if you're the type of person who finds woodpecker-pecked trees interesting.) And if you can identify any of the birds here, please tell us in your log.
