A regular ammo box located near to but slightly off the Hop River Trail
Our first cache hide is named for an event that we’ve probably all experienced. Be honest. Who hasn’t been traveling in a car with someone, maybe on the way to or from caching - when it hits you! You smell something… it’s foul… the stink is in the car… and the question comes… “Was that YOU?” You may have denied it, or (oddly) maybe even claimed it - but only you truly know if it was you or not. The cache is located along the Hop River Trail, which extends from the Bolton Notch, through Coventry, Andover, Columbia and Windham. The trail is part of the DEP’s Rails-to-Trails project and consists of packed gravel and stone dust. All but the final approach to the cache is pretty easy going, even for strollers. And check out the cool rock cut near the cache site. Park at 41°46.458N, 072°25.166W. Be careful crossing the road because drivers generally go too fast and sightlines are only fair. The round-trip walk is less than 1.5 miles. Congrats to Heckle, Bag-o-Tricks and Daddy's girl for being FTF.
