A long time ago, in a wildlife refuge far, far away....
The war between the once proud Geocacher race and The Squirrels
rages on. The Squirrels, led by the fearless Commander Squirrel,
have overcome the human cachers and have all but wiped out the once
powerful race.
The Geocachers are forced into hiding, doomed to cache only in
urban areas, hunting only lamp-post micros in parking lots and
other places squirrels dare not go for fear of being smashed by
speeding vehicles. The bravest of the cachers hunt in city parks,
where the squirrel populations are thin. But never in the
forests.
A tiny band of Rebel Geocachers have hatched a plan to end the
tyranny of Commander Squirrel. Even springing a trap called
Darkmoon's Eclipse, and thwarting the plans of Commander
Squirrel.
But as the tribulations of time have proven. Even the best laid
plans can be crumbled to dust by the lowliest of pawns.
Pvt. Squirrel has escaped the prison the Rebel Geocachers have
held him in. With his escape he's gained the knowledge of the
rebel's compound location. His last known whereabouts have been
posted on this cache page. It's up to you, brave Geocacher, to
locate him and be sure he remains in hiding.
He's been reported to be attempting to locate Commander Squirrel
and report our location. He's managed to get close enough to
Commander Squirrel's location that he's almost protected by The
Green Canopy of GPS Signal Death.
This is a recon mission only. Pvt. Squirrel has holed up in a
gnarly old tree, surrounded by the nastiest of thorns. Your mission
is to locate Pvt. Squirrel, and report that he remains hidden and
unable to reach Commander Squirrel.
Make sure you take the proper precautions before hunting any
cache in the wilderness. DEET! Loads of it! The ticks and mosquitos
will drain you dry if the squirrels don't capture you! Of course
you may also want to bring along a pencil....
