Jagtborg

Hvert forår trækker store mængder af fugle hen over Rørvig halvøen.

Husk at medbringe badetøj

Jagtborg ("Hunters Castle")

In the 1700th century, the area was part of Nakke Lyng or “the shifting sand lots”.
Untill 1867, the place was a large heath area with spreading sand hills.
The farmers cede the territory to the county, which in return established “Rørvig sandflugtsplantage (”shifting sand plantation”).

Contracter Niels Nielsen bought in 1914, parts of “the shifting sand lots”, including the Jagtborg- and Klitborg areas for 7 øre (0.07 DKR) per two feet.
The Klitborg and Jagtborg territories has during 1930-1952 been parcelled out, and today the area is mainly used for summer residences.

The plantation

Rørvig Sandflugtsplantage is varied and beatyfull, having many colors and shapes. It has the redtrunked pine, the light birch, and areas covered by heath.
The plantation grows in a large area of shifting sand. The hills are sand hills formed by the shifting sand.
Each spring big birdcrowds passes the area, finches, crows, dows and bird of preys can be observed from the plantation. At the ocean eiders and other aquatic birds can be seen all year.

The Beach

The beach is a prime beach - with miles of sand, and several sand hills.
The water is clear with sandy bottom, and is very kids-friendly, as it is rather flat.

Remember to bring swimsuits
