Geocache Description:

Charles F. Brush invented the arc lamp. He also experimented with a windmill powered dynamo. You can read more about him at this site or this site

He was born on March 17, 1849 in Euclid, OH. This cache is located on land that once was his boyhood farm, Walnut Hills.

I was looking at old maps and discoved that Charles' father, I.E. Brush owned 251 acres here. The south border is now the Richmond Hts. border. The property ran east to the county line. The western edge was just west of here and the northern line was just beyond Euclid Ave. A map of 1903 shows that Charles himself owned 97 acres where the cache now sits. The rest of the farm was divided among his siblings and others.

The land is now owned by the City of Euclid.

I suggest you park on Mulberry St. Coords are: N 41°35.100, W 081°29.711. Directly across Brush road is the easiest aproach to the cache.

BTW, Brush Rd. was originally the road that ran down to Euclid Ave. Richmond Rd. from Euclid south to Chardon Rd. did not exist. I estimate that "Brush" road intersected with Euclid a couple hundred yards east of the present Richmond Rd. intersection.

Finally, the cache you seek is a large ammo can.
