Having grown up only a mile down the road, the Corporation has spent lots of time over the years at "The Lake." Much has changed over the years, but this is still very familiar and favored ground. You will be looking for a camo ammo can filled with lots of goodies.
This cache is placed in Morton's most well known attraction, Roosevelt State Park. Situated in the approximate center of the State of Mississippi, this quiet respite is only about a 30 minute drive from the hustle and bustle of Metro-Jackson. The site of the MSGA Summer Bash 2006 (GCW1V3), this park has lots to offer for everyone.
This Corporation cache will showcase some of the wildlife residing in the park.
Wildlife is abundant in Roosevelt State Park. You can see a bunch of ducks, gaggles of geese, numerous squirrels, birds, and turkeys, and even a herd of deer.
Located across the road from the cache is the deer pen. There are some 20 deer in this inclosure, counting bucks and does. Some of the bucks living here will make any hunter's mouth water. In fact, there is a mount located in the lodge of one buck that was (illegally) killed by a person who claimed to be a hunter. You may have to look for them, but they are in there.
A new, larger deer pen is in the planning stages. This will be a joint-venture with Mississippi State University and their Deer Research program. It will have three new enclosures, giving room for more deer and more research opportunities.
FYI - If you haven't grabbed GCTT5X, you may want to, as this cache is in the vacinity of the new deer pen.
