Geocache Description:

Desert Critter corrected the coordinates to this one! Park at W38 49.271 N106 52.117. New cache coordinates are N38. 49.496 W106 52.134 Located at the caves up Cement Creek Road past Crested Butte South. You can see the caves when you turn into CB South...just look up the road and to the left. The climb is short but steep.

Drive out Cement Creek Road until you get past the last houses and there is a pull out about 1 mile from there. You will see a trail access sign across the road from the pull out/parking area. Follow this trail...You will see your destination from the bottom of the trail. Rumor has it that Butch Cassidy once hid out in this area south of town, during an infamous visit to Crested Butte. This is a kid friendly hike due to the short distance, even though the trail will make you breathe heavy! Kids should be experienced hikers, however, as it is a steep trail.The coordinates will get you to the opening of the cave, but you are on your own from there. The cache is placed less than 15 feet from the opening of the cave. It is hidden, but in an obvious hiding place. Just remember to look to you right and remember that it is kid friendly, meaning that kids will be better suited to find it! (It was hidden by a kid) The cache is a white container full of your typical geo-swag.
