Not Quite There Yet Traditional Cache

This cache has been archived.

LavaLizard: As there's been no cache to find for months, I'm archiving it to keep it from continually showing up in search lists, and to prevent it from blocking other cache placements. If you wish to repair/replace the cache sometime in the future, just contact us (by email), and assuming it meets the guidelines, we'll be happy to unarchive it.

Geocache Description:

Small 3" x 5" round cache cammo'ed to match location. Some small trade items log and pencil inside. FTF $$ prize.

Its true your not quite there yet, at the end of this short street is one of Spring Valley's Jewels. The McRae/Albright Ranch House. It was built between 1872 and 1880 and was designated as a historic site September of 2002.

The very large tree in the front yard is a Moreton Bay Fig planted in 1874. You may recognize it since there is one just like it on the north side of the Natural History Museum in Balboa Park. It is registered with California Big Trees but in not on their published list.

If you choose to visit the house it is privately owned but can be viewed from the street. There is a box at the entrance that contains leaflets with additional information about the house. You can also visit the Spring Valley Historical Society on Memory Ln, off of Bancroft Dr.
