Ringerike Nikkelverk ble startet i 1848 og ble lagt ned i 1920. Den hadde sin glansperiode i slutten av 1860 og begynnelsen av 1870.
Da var det 261 mann som jobbet her. Gjennom perioden er det blitt utvinnet 300.000 tonn malm,
som er blitt 20.000 tonn ren nikkel og 2000 tonn kobber. I 1866 var 1/7 av verdens nikkelprouksjon fra disse gruvene.

Gruva er bare noen hull i baken som er gjerdet inn, ligger nord for cachen ved: N60 04.214 E010 02.779

Ringerike nickel mines started up in 1848 and closed in 1920. The golden age for the mines was in the late 1860’s and early 1870’s.
In 1866, 261 men worked there and 1/7 of the worlds nickel production at the time came from this mine.
It produced 300.000 tons of ore that later became 200.000 tons of pure nickel and 2000 tons of copper.
