Part of the Mother's Day Series by Copperfield Rose. I had struggled for a few days on what to name my baby cache, but then during an afternoon of caching, it hit me like a shot of espresso.
Update: 6/6/09: Baby Gladys has grown up and moved out of her crib. She's lost a little baby fat and is just a bit taller and thinner. But don't worry; she hasn't moved out of the nursery just yet.
For years I have been visiting a particular caffeine establishment and came to refer to one of the workers as the 'coffee nazi'. This baby was supposed to be named after a boy; but this woman is as tough as any man I've ever met. The coffee nazi expects order and quickness inside her establishment. I have long been intimidated by her, yet today I gained a new found respect for her when I learned of a vehicular incident which struck her place of employment and her own car. Any other individual probably would have run outside, neglecting the customers, to survey the damage. Not the coffee nazi! She continued to fill drink orders, serve refreshements and comfort to the EMT's and accident victims, survey the store for damage, make sure the day's deposit would go out and keep everybody calm.
I learned her name today when some of her co-workers were gushing about her...Gladys. This cache is dedicated to her and her dedication to making her customers happy. When you stop by for this cache, you can run in and say hello to Gladys--she's the one with all the flair. Just make sure you know what you want to order before you get in line :)
