It's about time I put another box out. I scouted this spot out
about a week ago, but couldn't get any readings I liked. I came at
it from quarter mile downstream and returned that way. Today, we
decided to try to get to it from another approach and that proved
to be another option. I'm putting the terrain at 4 stars due to the
dangerous setting of the location and lack of trail. I did find
traces of an old, old trail when I approached from downstream, but
it didn't last very long. The cache is an .50 cal ammo box.
Signal was not very good again, so it was necessary for me to
make this an offset:
Coords will take you to the top of the falls. Stand on the large
rock that juts out to the top of the falls and face downstream.
You will note a tallish, narrow stump. Pick your way to it.
From the stump, you will see a smallish, rotten stump next to
couple of logs lying at an angle next to it.
The cache is just beyond those logs. Your geonose should be able
to snift it out.
Be careful everyone! Small kids should probably be left at home
even though this is a fairly short scramble depending on your
approach. I could give you parking coords and exact approach, but I
thought I would make this at least a little adventuresome!
One more thing, be sure to explore upstream a bit and
downstream! Nice surprises will be awaiting you!
