Geocache Description:

This cache is located near a baseball field that has become a launching pad to the professional baseball ranks. Over the past 41 years, more than 100 players from this program have signed contracts to play in the Major, Minor and Rookie Leagues. Four former players are currently on major league rosters - Jon Lieber of the Philadelphia Phillies, Juan Pierre of the Chicago Cubs, Luis Gonzales of the Arizona Diamondbacks, and Marlon Anderson of the Washington Nationals - and six more of the school's players signed professional contracts at the end of the 2006 season.

A baseball camp is held here each summer, and participants get specialized training from the program's coaches and current players. They video you in the batting cages, then break down and improve your swing. I really enjoyed the scrimmages on the field! I hope that you enjoy this cache and the others I have included on my baseball tour.

The above co-ordinates will take you to a statue in front of the stadium. The cache can be found nearby at N30 41.4AB, W88 11.CD9, by substituting AB with the last two digits of the year of the coach's death and CD with the last two digits of the year of his birth. The cache container is a camouflaged 30 caliber ammo can. The original contents included a log book and pens, an "I Love Baseball" key chain, a baseball sweatband, a squishy baseball, a foam baseball, a baseball pencil, and several baseball trading cards.
