Near the cache site there are the old buildings from the homestead of my Great-Great-Uncle, George Andersen. Please don't venture into the property without permission from my father...we've had a few people steal things from the property, (which ended up in a road chase forty miles away, but that is a story for another time) so we ask that you stay near the road.

George built this cabin in 1907 for his homestead. He lived there for ten years. My Grandpa acquired the homestead sometime in the 1940's. When my dad took over the farm, he continued to farm it. Currently it is the US Crop Reduction Program so for a few more years, it will be a grass area for wildlife.

The main building is the homestead cabin. The building behind is an old wood Grainery. The Box-Car came later by my Grandpa (for $500.00) and is only used for storage and as a haven for lost field mice :)
