While I feel that Geocaching.com should hold the location for the cache owner and block other cachers from placing a cache in the area around this cache for a reasonable amount of time, we can’t do so forever.

Nothing seems to happen with this cache listing, so it is now archived, so that someone else can place a cache in the area, and geocachers can once again enjoy visiting this location. Also, if it hasn’t been done already, please pick up any remaining cache bits as soon as possible.

If the owner wants it reopened, send me an e-mail and I’ll be happy to unarchive the cache listing if it still satisfies the requirement/guidelines.

(This reviewer note is in English so non-Norwegian cache owners, geocachers and cache reviewers can understand what it says.)

Østmarkneset is located at the very northern part of the Lade penninsula in Trondheim. The area is near the "Ladestien" track and is mostly moss covered rock with an average decent to the sea level.

Norsk intro:

Østmarkneset er lokalisert aller ytterst på den nordlige delen av Ladehalvøya i Trondheim. Området ligger nærme "Ladestien" og er for det meste mosebelagt fjell med en middels helning ned mot sjøen.

English description:

Østmarkneset is an harbour area remaining from WW2. The Germans had a lot of installations in the Lade area, and out here you could find buildings, bunkers, cranes etc remaining from the massive fortifications around. This area was until recently the property of Statsbygg and used by the "Norges Geologiske Undersøkelse NGU" (Norwegian Geological Survey) but "Direktoratet for naturforvaltning DN" (Directorate of Nature Administration) will buy the property during 2006 and make the area available for public activity.

DN will also pay the costs for removing a lot of buildings, cleaning up and securing the area.

Norsk beskrivelse:

Østmarkneset er et havneområde fra andre verdenskrig. Tyskerene hadde en hel den installsjoner i Ladeområdet og her ute kan du finne bygninger, bunkere, kraner osv som stammer fra de massive anleggene i området. Dette området var inntil nylig eid ad Statsbygg og brukt av "Norges Geologiske Undersøkelse NGU", men "Direktoratet for naturforvaltning DN", vil kjøpe området i løpet av 2006 og gjøre det tilgjengelig for almennheten.

DN vil også ta kostnadene med å fjerne en stor mengde bygninger, rense opp og sikre området
