Geocache Description:

A nicely placed, small cache.

This cache is alongside the beautiful Birmingham canals. It is situated near industrial factories. Notice JRR Tolkein's famous tower which inspired the writing of the second book of the Lord Of The Rings Trilogy ("The Two Towers") - can be seen from the top of the "canal hump" which is the towpath right next to the cache site (looking towards the railway bridge, in the distance). The walk to the cache is very pleasant when coming from the Birmingham town center (Brindley Place/Broad Street). There are always many different birds which live on the canal which make walking there all worth while! If you do decide to stay in the area for a while, I would recommend visiting Brindley Place on foot from the cache site if you have not already come from that way. There are many wonderful cafes and restaurants in this part of town as well as a few more excellent caches and many amusements such as the cinema, Symphony Hall, the NIA (National Indoor Arena) and the Sea Life Centre (all within 15 minutes walking distance from the cache). There aren't usually many muggles around this part of Birmingham but if there are any, please don't let them see you take out or replace the cache.

The bus stop nearest to the cache is the number 101 which stops in Birmingham city centre, Handsworth and Winson Green. The cache is about a three minute walk from the stop.

Please replace the cache in its original location. It is visible to muggles but they will notice it if it is sticking out of its hiding place even a little bit!

This cache is quite high up!
(Take something to stand on or be prepared to have a leg up [if you're not going alone] before setting off if you're under 6ft)

!!! Please take this into account before searching for this cache !!!
