Geocache Description:

This cache is the replacement for the Original Powell PLace which was archived because the original location had construction and the original cache was lost. This is in the same vicinity but different location. Difficulty is set at 2 because the number of muggles that may watching you. PLease use extreme stealth on this one. It is still located in the Powell Place shopping center off of Clinton Highway and Emory Road.

This is a 35mm film container. It just contains a log so BYOP. The coords will bring you within 10 feet. Once there it should be easy to find. This is a drive up cache so its very easy. There is a lack of caches in this area so I thought I would hide several. Look out for many others to come.
Powell Place, a busy shopping center, has quite a bit of history for you history buffs.

Powell was established in 1789 by settlers moving through Eastern Tennessee into the North and West. Attracted by a ready supply of water and good farming land, settlers stayed to establish one of the first trading outposts in Northern Knox County.

Once at the cache site if you look at the Weigels gas station on the corner of Emory Rd and Clinton Hwy, there is a historic marker there. Near that very location was a fort built in 1787 by John Meniffe to protect the settlers in the Powell community from Indian attacks. There was a small military unit in place there, mainly Volunteers.

There is your small history lesson of the area. PLease rehide the cache as you found it. Watch out for wandering eyes.
