Geocache Description:

  Bilberry Fields Forever

  Cache Description
Regular cache hidden amongst acres of bilberries, on the hillside above Wainsgate Chapel, near Old Town.

The cache is a rectangular plastic container measuring 21x14x7cm. Contains usual swaps, log book and camera. It is located among several interesting geographic features that were probably small quarries at some time.

The view from the cache is very good on a clear day. Among the visible landmarks are Stoodley Pike, Heptonstall Church, Wainsgate Chapel and the local mill.

Dash & Cache Approach
For the short approach park outside the cricket club. There are several nearby routes up on to the hillside and the cache is no more than 200m away.

More Interesting Approach
A longer and more interesting approach is the walk up from Hebden Bridge via Nutclough Wood (approx (1.2 miles). Road side parking can be found on the side of the A6033 anywhere near the waypoint listed below. Take the track/path up to Wainsgate Chapel through the woods, on the left hand river bank, from the traffic lights on sharp bend in the road.

Point of Interest
For anyone interested in a quick detour, Wainsgate Chapel is a hidden gem just around the corner. Its often used as a local concert venue.
