The trail will take you around the old town of Peebles, along the east side of the Eddleston Water, better known locally as " The Cuddy " to Old Station Bridge, with excursions to Bridgegate and Northgate. On the return trip, on the west side of the river via Cross Kirk and Biggiesknowe.
It should take you between 3/4 to 1 hour to complete the cache.

Starting at the confluence of the Tweed and Eddleston Water, count the number of bridges that span the Eddleston Water, up to and including Old Station Bridge, this number ="A".

Now a detour to Bridgegate and Northgate.

This was originally the main access into town from the west, below the bridge is Cuddy Pool where those accused of witchcraft and other malpractices were ducked. Find the Borders Regional Council Architectural Award plaque of 19"C"0.

Near the corner of Bridgegate/Northgate there is a plaque to Mungo Park Doctor and African Traveller. The plaque states that Mungo Park resided here from 1801 to 180"D".
Now back to the Cuddy.
Along the trail you will pass + + + + + + + + + +"E" Farm, using A = 1, B = 2 etc, find the eleventh letter of the farm name and this number is = "E".

The Cross Kirk was originally a Trinitarian Priory built by order of King Alexander111 of Scotland. In the 15thcentury a monastery was added.

Biggiesknowe

Biggiesknowe (a corruption of bridge - house - knowe) was once the centre of the burgh's hand weaving cottage industry. The publishers brothers William and Robert Chambers were born in one of these houses, the date on this house is 17"G"6. In another the houses the noted academic Professor John Veitch LLD was born on the 24th October 18 "H"9.
