A nice country drive to a little visited area.
This cache is located near a unique rock that we came across several years ago while exploring the backroads north of lake Isle. The rock is huge and bears a striking resemblence to a large elephant when viewed from the road. While placing the cache Mr Farmer came by on his tractor and struck up a conversation (I guess he doesn't get too many people stopping by to admire his rock). He dug up the rock several years ago because it was sticking up a few inches in his field; but he didn't know what he was getting himself into! Eventually it took a D8 cat and a large backhoe and lots of time to get it out and moved across the field to a gate where he was thinking of carving a Elk into it as he is an elk farmer. He never noticed it looked like an elephant untill we mentioned it; but he does see it now. You'll probably see domesticated elk in the neighbourhood as well as buffalo. Also some great views of the Pembina River valley if you keep going west on the road for a couple hundred meters.
If the gate is open it doesn't sound like he would mind if you checked out the rock and took photos but generally the gate would be closed as he keeps elk here from time to time. Don't try to get in if the gate is closed. The cache is located on public property and there's a good view of the "elephant" from the cache.
Cache is stocked with some pretty neat elephant items; trade with whatever you've got.
I had this cache terrain rating set at a #1 but the cache reviewer pointed out that #1 means wheel chair accesable. In good weather it probably would be (assuming you are driving to the cache)but it would be a bit rough for the last 10 meters or so.
It's down low so probably will be a hard find if there is much snow.
