Geocache Description:

Our 5th Geo Cache along the former Green Bay and Western Railroad right-of-way which is now the Tomorrow River rec trail.

April 12, 1866 was the date that the charter was granted to create the Green Bay and Western Railroad. This trail once hosted 2 through freights a day. One headed east and one headed west. The end came when the Green Bay and Western was purchased by the Wisconsin Central in 1993. The rails where lifted shortly after in favor of the WC's better maintained line to the south.

It must have been a nice ride for passengers when the GBW was still operating passenger trains through here between Green Bay and East Winona.

There is a fee if you ride a bike. Otherwise it's free if you walk.

Please make sure to rehide the cache as good as when you found it. There is a farmer near by and this trail does see alot of use so please use some stealth.

This cache was created while I was on a 9.33 mile round trip bike ride on a nice 7/6/2006 evening.
