Bergdala är en liten by. All bebyggelse i trakten är
kopplade till glasbruket, som anlades 1889. Här uppfördes
hytta, sliperi,magasin, packhus, ångsåg samt
disponentbostad och tre arbetarkaserner, vilket var det som
behövdes för att driva ett för den tiden normalstort
glasbruk. Bruket har varit hårt drabbat av bränder och
hyttan har brunnit ned till grunden två gånger, 1897
och 1981. Bergdala har hållit fast vid traditionerna och
även efter branden 1981 byggde man en trähytta med
brädgolv. Detta gör Bergdala glasbruk unikt då de
flesta andra bruk med trähytta, ofast i samband med brand,
ersatts med stenbyggnader. Här eldas ugnen med ved som man
alltid har gjort och här smälts allt glas i den centralt
placerade rundugnen.
Gömman är en 0,2 l plastburk som innehåller
loggbok, penna och några bytesvaror.
Bergdala is a small village. All the houses in Bergdala are in
some way connected to the glassworks, which was founded in 1889. A
glass furnace, a glass-cutter’s workshop, a storehouse, a
packhouse, a steam sow-mill, a managing director’s residence
and tree houses for glass workers were built. That was all that was
needed to run a normal-sized glass factory at that time. The
factory has been burnt to the ground twice, in 1897 and in
1981.Bergdala glassworks has stuck to traditions and after the fire
in 1981 a new factory was built, with a new wooden floor. The floor
makes Bergdala glassworks unique as most of the other glassworks
replaced their wodden floors with stone, after fires. Wood is used
to heat the furnace and here the glass is melted in the round
furnace placed in the middle of the factory.
