The cache is named in honor of Miss IDA Cahoon, who in most
generous fashion donated her family’s land to the City of Bay
Village for use as a park. However, our dear old gal included a
caveat in her will: “NO boating, bathing, games or sports
shall be permitted on said Park or property on Sunday.” You're
looking for an ammo box stocked with theme appropriate goodies.
The cache can be found at:
N41 29.ABC, W081 55.DEF
Step 1: Go to the posted coordinates (N 41° 29.243 W 081°
55.320) and count the arrow heads pointing directly to the base of
Old Glory. Subtract six from this number to solve for A.
Step 2: At the same location, sight along a 350 degree azimuth
and you will see a three digit number. Determine the sum of the
three digits and subtract 5 to solve for B.
Step 3: Go to N41 29.214, W081 55.418 and find a precious
gem. Determine the sum of the first three digits after the name of
the gem and divide by three to solve for C.
Step 4: Go to N41 29.197, W081 55.475 and find the first
in a series of concrete structures. From this point and continuing
on a WNW heading, count the number of upright legs (tall and short)
in this series of concrete structures. Stop counting at the sled
hill clearing. The number of legs divided by six is the solution
for D.
Step 5: Go to N41 29.315, W081 55.549 and find a replica
of a structure built in 1810. Find the name associated with the
original historical structure and determine the sum of the letter
values (A=1, B=2, etc.) of the six letters in this name. Subtract
47 to solve for E.
Step 6: At the same location, find the name associated with the
replica structure. Count the letters in his first and last names
and you’ve solved for F.
Now you have the information to find the cache. You've worked
hard to get to this point, so here's a couple free hints: (1) most
of the steep terrain is to the east of the hide site, and (2)
bushwacking is required. Have fun and don't forget to CITO on your
way out!
