Geocache Description:

Located just west of Fredericksburg off U.S. Highway 18. Parking is available at Robert Mattke Park located across the highway from Plum Creek Golf Course. There are 2 other caches you can get to from the same parking lot which I invite you to try. They are: Frederick Padden's Legacy and Plum Creek Cache. The cache is located close to the parking area and your walk should be fairly easy.

A Flying Bridge? Near Fredericksburg? I'm hoping by now I have made you just a little curious. On a mild December morning in 1998, the residence of Fredericksburg awoke to a "Flying Bridge". It was quite the sight and drew a large crowd to watch such an event. It must have been a slow news day in the area as well because Newscopter 9 out of Cedar Rapids even covered the event on their newscast. Unfortunately I won't get into all the details about where the bridge came from, how old it is or why a bridge would be flying in the first place. When you visit the cache as Paul Harvey would say "Now you know the rest of the story".

The container you are looking for is a plastic Centrum pill bottle wrapped in camo duct tape containing a pencil, logbook and a couple of trade items. I might include a couple of coins in the cache as I am an active coin collector. The container is kind of plain looking - nothing fancy. Some might call it generic. As a fitting FTF prize, I have included a recently released "Generic Geocoin". I guess you could say when looking for the cache you are "fishing from the bridge". Please return the cache as you found it.

The cache should be fairly easy and quick to find. I have not enclosed any additional hints, however if I do get a couple DNF's, I will add a clue to help you out. Good Luck with the "Flying Bridge" cache!
