This cache is located in a City Park on one of the highest points overlooking Clarksburg. The views are good and will be better after the leaves fall. I've seen deer every time I've been in there and the last time I saw a turkey. The park is known for having Civil War era trenches and breastworks. It's not well kept and is now mainly known as the home of the YMCA.
The best way to get there is to take the 2nd Street exit from Rt. 50 and stay on 2nd street all the way up Lowndes Hill.
Note: If the Y isn't open, the park isn't. I've found the gates closed on holidays and Sundays. I've parked near the exit and walked in, it's not far though it's all uphill. The park closes at dark except on Saturdays when it closes at 5:00pm.
This is a multi. The coordinates are for a micro. Park behind the Y and cross the field to find the micro. The micro contains the coordinates for the cache which is a .30 caliber ammo box. My first cache seems to be too easy so I'm making this one harder. Don't expect a quick grab. There's not a lot of hiking but I think the hides are going to make up for it. After the micro, you can cut through the woods or there is a 4 wheeler trail at the back left corner of the field. There's a nice trail through the woods most of the way to the cache. The last part is a bit steep and can be slippery when it's wet. Please don't move any large objects to access the cache. You can get it by a smaller "back door". I'm afraid the cache site will be destroyed by the larger parts being moved. Please pick up any litter you find. The Y produces tons of it. I spent a lot of time trying to clean up the area. I'm including a rather obscure clue for the micro.
