Geocache Description:

What is that song... it's on the tip of my tongue! Cache is NOT at the posted coordinates. Please do not proceed there, however it is only 1 or 2 miles away. Difficulty is mostly for the puzzle, not so much for the cache hunt.

To solve the puzzle, listen to the attached 30-second audio file. You will hear short clips from 8 songs that were #1 on the billboard charts during the '80s. You will need to identify each song and correspond them in order to AA, B, C, D, EE, F, G, and H. If you grew up listening to 80's pop music like we did, you should recognize most of these pretty easily. Otherwise you may need to find someone who did and hopefully they will lend an ear!

Once you identify the songs, you must answer the following questions to determine the final cache coordinates. There is parking available nearby so there is no need to be unsafe in your approach.

If you don't see a play bar here, then click here to play the mp3.

The final coordinates are located at:
N40 AA.BCD W74 EE.FGH.

AA. What day of the month did this song hit #1?
B. How many weeks was this song #1?
C. What # did this song peak at on the UK singles chart?
D. How many studio (non-compilation) albums did this artist release prior to 2008?
EE. What was the running time (minutes) of the album this song was released on?
F. This artist had two EP's named after the number of songs they contained. What was the name of the longer one?
G. How many top 5 singles were released from the corresponding album?
H. Of this artist's #1 songs, which one was this? The first? second? third...?

Cache container is .30 cal ammo can which was started with an iTunes FTF prize, 6 CDs from the 80s, and a puzzle coin. Watch out for the plentiful thorns at GZ!! If you are not careful, they may get "Stuck On You" just like these songs might have gotten stuck in your head. This cache was inspired by ecocyclist's Name That Tune cache.

Update 6/11/2007
Ammo can was muggled so the new hide is a tupperware container hidden within 15 ft of the original coords under a small evergreen.
