Geocache Description:

Quick and easy Park & Grab accessible from the interstate.

This is one cache in a series we are calling the I-25 caches. These caches are all easily accessed from I-25 and are all easy park and grabs.

This cache is located in Mineral Palace Park. There once was a building not too far from this cache site that was called the Mineral Palace. The building was meant for a temporary exhibition that displayed the beauty and diversity of Colorado's mineral wealth. Eventually the exhibits were removed and the building fell into disrepair. During WWII, the Mineral Palace was demolished so that the extensive copper decorative elements could be reused for war materiel. The Park is still named for the building and features a number of excellent WPA project structures.

The cache is a round jar about 10 incehs tall and 5 inches wide. Be stealthy on this one. Best not to attract attention of city park people, who tend to act officious over the cache.
