Geocache Description:

This cache is placed near Whispering Lake in the Black Jack Springs recreational area.

This is a very beautiful area, we come up here frequently to camp and hike. If you like to fish bring a pole, there is excellent bass fishing once you reach the lake. Try to take some time to look around after you have found the cache, there are miles of trails. If you are adventurous and don't mind a longer walk (about 2 miles) you could walk all the way to the black jack springs, I would recommend picking up a map at the ranger station in eagle river if you are going to try that.

There is a parking area located at N46 00.036 W089 04.416. Follow the trail in from there. There is a spot on the road that will show closer on the GPS but it is very thick if you plan on bushwhacking your way in. The trail is just a one-person wide path, and you may need to step over new fallen trees if there have been any storms recently. Otherwise it is a fairly easy walk in, I would not recommend small children because there are several hills to go up and down. It will be about a .6-mile walk in to the cache. The cache is placed off the trail about 40 feet. Of course, due to the tree cover there can be poor satellite reception in the cache area. Cache is a 2 quart rubbermaid container with screw on lid covered in cammo tape.
