Though we've all had an exhausting year and suffered many personal losses since Hurricane Katrina paid us a visit last year - it's time to come together and celebrate all that we do have to be grateful for.

We are planning a pot-luck event at Percy Quin State Park (Pavillion #4) on Oct. 14, 2006; 11:00 am - til. The pavillion is covered, but only has 1 grill (we'll need to bring a couple of more; plentiful seating and 4 large picnic tables, and the bathrooms are just across the street.

There is a $3.00 entrance fee per vehicle (up to 6 people) to enter the park and have access to the facilities.

If you choose to camp or stay in a cabin while there, you must make reservations by calling 1-601-684-3938. (Primitive & developed sites are available on a first come, first serve basis). Rates for cabins vary from $55.00 - $85.00/night and there is a 2-night minimum stay required on weekends.

There is a public boat launch (fee required) in the park should you choose to bring a boat, but there are no boats available for rent.

For those of you who play golf, reservations must be made 2 weeks in advance and can be done so by calling the pro-shop at: 1-601-684-2903.

If you choose to fish while there, you must possess a current MS State fishing license.
