A scenic lookout on Trapper's Loop. That's Thurston Peak and a view of the Wasatch Back to the south, Mt Ogden and Snow Basin to the west, and Durst Mtn to the east.
In my opinion, this is one of the most beautiful and scenic drives in Utah and is part of a loop route: Weber Cyn - Trappers Loop - Pineview Res and Ogden Valley - Ogden Cyn and back to the start. The highway was built to access Snow Basin and Ogden Valley. It's open year-round, and we drive it often visiting our grandkids and a cabin we have up the middle fork of the Ogden River. There are three ski resorts, great fishing and camping, snowmobiling, boating at Pineview and Causey, and many other recreational opportunities including a lot of wonderful geocaches.
Bring your camera and enjoy. Be on the lookout for moose.
