Geocache Description:

Just a little tribute... The posted coords are nowhere near the cache or parking so they will not be of any use.

- The Roven Boys - Lute Roven and Tule Roven. Lute and Tule immigrated to Vermont through Montreal Canada, legally I might add, in 1892. They first settled in South Hero and moved to Essex two years later to be closer to civilization. They were dairy farmers for a while and eventually expanded their business to include hardware and grain. In 1905 when they had their empire established in Essex they had more time to become active in the community. As the area grew Lute saw a need for a locally based medic service, he had been a medic in the Swedish Army. Tule joined in. As the years passed Tule decided to move to Underhill and start a fledgling fire department. He loaded his equipment on the train and headed out. These two civic minded pioneers made this area a good place to live. People could feel safe knowing help was just down the road. The pioneers - Two square shooters. They always played fair and by the rules! They gave a fair shake to all they met. So as time has passed Tule is buried in the Irish Settlement Cemetery in Underhill. Lute is buried in the Village Cemetery in Essex. So, what does this story mean? It's a lead in to a tribute to two of our caching friends. After you figger it all out you will most likely know who they are. Maybe you already know by just reading this far. They put themselves out and volunteer their spare time to make our communities a better place to live!
