A "bonus cache" full of smuggler`s swag.
In earlier centuries the Channel Islands were notorious for the activities of their smugglers who went to great lengths to conceal their booty. This cache will also take some time to track down as you will need to scour the island hunting for clues hidden in other caches. There are 5 clues, the first 4 (Red, Black, Green & Blue) are each part of a coordinate. You need all four to complete the Latitude & Longitude of the "Smuggler`s Stash" .There are two copies of each of these to give you some flexibility in your search .The 5th (Yellow) clue is optional, you can find the final cache without it but it may help. Some of the clues are on loose laminated cards others are stapled into log books.
RED Clue is in "Noirmont"
BLACK Clue is in "Eat Me Leg 2" & "Race To The Castle".
GREEN Clue is in "Five Mile Beach" & "Another Legend".
BLUE Clue is in "Vicard View" , "Vaux Cuissin" & "Gribbin`s Travelling Cache".
Use the clues in this order to obtain the final cache location -
N49` RED.BLACK W002` GREEN.BLUE
The area near the cache location has rather poor GPS reception but the higher you go the better the signal should be. In the best tradition of treasure hunts I`ve provided a map (see below), print this off and refer to it if your signal is really bad. There is a catch though! There are no distances marked on the map, these distances (A&B) can be found on the YELLOW clue. This also has the cryptic clue printed on it. There is more than one copy of the YELLOW clue but I can`t reveal which caches they are placed in! Please leave all clues in the boxes where you find them.
The coordinates at the top of the page are for a car parking area behind a small, family friendly beach. From the car park head South up the hill & into the woods. The bay is a good area to relax & get some refreshments after you complete your task.
