From Dairy Farm to Ski Park to Jamberoo Recreation Park. In 1974 the Eddy family decided that they would buy a dairy farm in Jamberoo, not knowing that the idea would soon crash and burn.
Some time after they had bought the farm Mr. Don Day reduced milk quotas on the South Coast. Looking for ideas that may put the farm back into profit they happened to be watching a TV show that included grass skis. The Eddy family were all keen on skiing so they decided to buy 10 pairs and try them out on their own property. More and more people became enticed to fly down a mountain on grass skis and the idea became a huge success. These actions lead up to the creation of Jamberoo Recreation Park that we all know of today.
