Another monument to a life lost in the early days
Copper was a big industry for a while here in the 1860's, and for a long time the transport back to Port Augusta was fairly rugged. This route through Brachina Gorge replaced the even more arduous original one, but obviously there were still hardships and medical help was a long way away if needed. This should be a fairly simple cache in an obvious spot, but while here visit the monument and think about the hardships that the people who opened up the country for us had to live through. Since placed I have moved to Sydney so if someone wants to volunteer to own the cache and be responsible for maintenance please let me know and I will hand it over. **EDIT** Since I now live 1200km if someone has a spare small container they can take to fix the cracked lid problem it would be appreciated.
