Geocache Description:

A hill-top site with stunning views of the Irwell Valley

Nestling on the hills above the market towns of Rawtenstall and Haslinden this cache affords fine views of the Rossendale area. On a clear day the views of the Lancashire Moors are stupendous.

The cache itself lies on the Rossendale Round The Hills Walk (Alternative route) and to reach the cache involves a short, sharp, steep climb.

Parking is available in both Rawtenstall and Haslingden either in the town or on one of the tracks (public tarmac highways) leading onto the moors.

On a Sunday morning and during the summer evenings you will find the area is used by model aircraft enthusiasts and makes the experience more worthwhile

Plenty of sustinance is available in several local cafes and supermarkets.

You could take a ride on the Steam Train from Bury or Heywood
