"The Merry Monk is a handsome and friendly public house offering a high standard of food, drink and hospitality.
Wally and Sue Clayton have 30 years' experience in the licensing trade in Devon, Dorset and Somerset, and have been at The Merry Monk since 1997. Their experience shows in the expert and friendly service they offer all their guests.
Wadsworth 6X and a changing guest ale are the real ales on tap, as well as a range of keg bitters, lagers, cider, stout, a good wine lists, spirits, soft drinks, teas and coffees.
Well known for the quality of its food, this excellent inn offers a choice of delicious meals and snacks. Home-made dishes such as steak-and-ale pies, beef and mushroom stroganoff and chicken korma are a speciality here, and can be chosen from the extensive menus or daily specials board. Booking is advised for Saturday evening and Sunday lunch. Children are welcome if dining. Meals can be taken throughout the pub or in the separate non-smoking restaurant, a large and tastefully furnished and decorated venue where the ambience is relaxed and homely. There's also an attractive conservatory, added in 2001. On fine days, the lovely beer garden is just the place to enjoy a pleasant drink or meal, and is has a children's play area."
