Geocache Description:

Flaskforet is an automated lighthouse perched on a cliff near the sea in Bø in Vesterålen.

The spot is a beautiful place to watch the midnight sun, as there is nothing but the open ocean between you and Greenland, except the sugarlump-shaped hills Nykene in the sea to the north.

Go to Straumsjøen, and follow the road until you get to a small parking lot. Walk along the road and paths from there, and close any gates you pass.

Please be careful when approaching this cache! Getting there involves climbing ladders, and do not attempt it unless the weather is good. If there is wind when you start hiking to the cache, it will be much stronger at the lighthouse, as it is very exposed.

The cache itself is an icecream box, original contents:

- Log book and pen
- Toy car
- Red squeezeball
- Carabiner hook with a small light

As a bonus, the cache contains the coordinates to my secret fishing spot! It is not a cache, but simply my own secret fishing spot. I used to come there in the summer when I was a kid, and fish cod and coalfish. I've caught fish as big as 4 kg with a simple rod from here! Now I wish to share it with fellow geocachers.

Beware, at the fishing spot, the rocks near the sea are slippery. Stand on the small shelf and throw the line towards the island, there is a shallow area where the fish feed.
