Another hidden gem along the Illawarra Escarpment.
Summit Tank lies directly west of Dapto. There are a couple of ways to reach the area. The first and most recommended way would be to climb the walking trail that begins west of Wongawilli. This trail will bring your to the top of the Escarpment near Summit Tank. It will however probably not be marked on your map. The track is quite steep and will take you past some historical remnants of mining eras gone by, including some troughs cut into the rock to water pit ponies.
The second method of access would be to catch one of the tourist trains that often come along this line. All of the trains stop here so that passengers can take in the view.
Beware, there are unfenced cliffs in the vicinity!
I placed the cache on a wet, foggy, miserable day, so the co-ordinates may be a little out!
