Easy to find GeoCache in the northwest of Kosovo. The first GeoCache I ever placed.
My first information was that the place where I placed the Cache is an old castle, for that reason I called the Cache “KOS CASTLE”. In fact it is the ruin of an old church as I had to learn.
It should be very easy to find the place because it is near to the mainroad between Pristina and Peja. In summer it is no problem to enter the ruin with a vehicle. If you have a 4 x 4 vehicle or a motorbike you can approach to the Cache to 10 meters. But even with a normal vehicle the maximal distance to walk is less than 100 meters.
It is also possible to find the Cache during winter but footsteps and skid marks in the snow may attract a lot of attention. So please be careful that the Cache will not be detected by muggles.
Normally there are not a lot of muggles around, but sometimes – especially in summer on “lazy Sundays” – Police Officers of the Motorbike Unit of Kosovo Police Service meet there to enjoy life.
From the ruins you have a nice view to one of the bigger towns in Kosovo which is around 3 – 4 kilometers away.
Attached you find four pictures. Picture 1 and picture 2 contain major spoilers. Be careful if you do not want to know the exact place where the Cache is located and how to enter the ruin. Picture 3 shows the ruin from the mainroad, picture 4 shows a view on the town I mentioned before.
The Cache itself is a tupper-like plastic-box, 17 x 17 x 6 cm. It contains
- a logbook (please don’t remove)
- a pen (please don’t remove)
- a laminated information sheet for people who found the Cache by accident (please don’t remove)
- a patch (Blue Knights Germany XVIII)
- a patch (German Flag)
- a snap-hook
- a keyholder “Mission in Kosovo – UNMIK”
- a Macedonian coin

General advice: All over in Kosovo there are some animals using poison for hunting (spiders, snakes, scorpions). Some of them live and / or sleep under stones and in holes, favourite places to hide GeoCaches. So be careful when turning around stones or grabbing into holes. I advice to use gloves!
