2006 marks the 20th year for the Tour d'Toona, a bicycle race similar in many ways to the Tour d'France. Each year, the town is filled with hopeful amateur and professional bicycle racers who compete in stages requiring speed and endurance. This cache in downtown Altoona brings to mind the last stage --a 30 mile criterion around downtown.
The site can be quite heavily muggled and the ammo box got taken. It was replaced with a small black plastic jar and moved farther from the street. Now it is a camo loc-n-lock container. BYOP. A soldier stands guard and we hope he is more vigilant now.
