This is our annual BBQ event combined with a family campout. Picnic
is Aug 5th from noon til 3 at the Harrington Fork picnic grounds,
camping is Aug 4-6 at Porcupine campground, Loop D.
Welcome to the 2006 edition of the Magic Valley cache bash...South
hills style.
This year we will have a BBQ, going from noon til 3pm for the day
trippers. The posted coords will take you to the Harrington Fork
picnic grounds in the foothills leading into the South Hills.
Burgers, Dogs, buns and condiments will be provided. Please bring a
side dish, chips and your favorite beverage. We will also have a
community cache, so bring some swag to drop in it.
For the campers we will be camping from Friday to Sunday at the
Porcupine Campground, loop D. Coords are 42 09.993 114 15.671.
These campsites are first come first served, so plan on arriving as
early as possible. I'll be arriving thursday afternoon and will try
and "park" as many sites as I can. Please contact me if you plan on
camping so we can get enough sites. Check the bulletin board when
you arrive for our locations.
There are tons of caches along Rock Creek and there is a night
cache planned for Sat night. In the campground there will be 2 kegs
of homebrew with an open tap. There will also be nightly campfires
with some live entertainment.
Bring your hiking boots and fishing poles. The fishing in Rock
Creek has been fast and furious this year.
